Manners in Motion Dog Schools Manners in Motion utilizes the “Click and Treat” method of training. Our staff is composed of experienced instructors who are dedicated to you and to your dog. We train you to be trainers, as well as life long stewards and companions to your dog. Obedience classes progress from Puppy Kindergarten through Utility training. Each of the classes is taught on a “building block” format, starting simply with the basics, and adding skills as well as complexity with each level. The Level 1 class is the Beginner class. Puppy Kindergarten is designed as a foundation for the Level 1 class, but it is not required to attend that class. Tracking classes involve scent training for the purpose of following human scent and finding an object. This is an outdoor sport and the class meets rain or shine in various locations. Agility classes are taught both at the field in Sterrett and at the Center in Pelham. This sport introduces your dog to jumping, weaving, running through tunnels, and traversing large obstacles such as the A-Frame, the Dog Walk and the See Saw. It is a fun and active sport for both you and your dog. Flyball is another fast active sport. It is a team sport, a relay race for dogs that involves jumping and retrieving a tennis ball. Flyball classes are run by the Birmingham Bandits Flyball Club at our Pelham location.
